Bio

Barbara Nakazawa, known for greatly inspiring her students, has been a private flute teacher for the past 30 years. Her students continue to win top positions in honorary ensembles such as All State, District, Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble, and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra.  Having taught in both New York and Boston, she has been on the faculties of The Brookline Music School, Newton Public School Music Program, Powers Music School, The Roosa School of Music, and The New England Conservatory Summer Program. She received a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from The Boston Conservatory of Music.  Her mentors include Lois Schaefer, Virginia Sindelar, Paul Fried, Alexander Murray, Bernard Goldberg, Paul Gray, Harold Jones, Max Schoenfeld, and Francis Blaisdell.  Ms Nakazawa has performed with the Citibank Series in New York and with the Brookline Symphony, Cambridge Symphony, Symphony by the Sea and Cape Ann Symphony.
